Just a quick committee update for all players and parents. NOEL WHITE our President for 2018/2019, has unfortunately resigned. We wish Noel all the best and thank him for all the effort he has made for the Sorrento JFC and the changes he has implemented. We’re hoping we will still see his face around the club – he has been fantastic for the growth and changes the club have made and will be missed.

Our incoming President is GARY GRANT. Gary is a local parent from Blairgowrie and, with partner Amanda, has two sons – Charlie in the U16 and Jack in the U11s – as well as two daughters, Ayla and Tarsha.

Gary is the Founder and Director of their family business based in Portsea, called Bayplay Adventure Tours. Operating for 20 years, the business runs outdoor education and school camps for schools, as well as services the tourism market in adventure experiences such as scuba diving, snorkelling, sea kayaking, sailing, bike riding, hiking etc The business also runs Group accommodation, Glamping and Retreats.

Strengths:

> 20 years experience working with school groups as well as international and local tourists. 8 years travelling and working in international tourism businesses with a focus on the outdoors.

> 5 years on the Sorrento Primary School council

> Lifetime Collingwood supporter

> His experience working with school kids from primary and secondary levels as well as teachers and parents will be a strength to the SJFC going forward.
